INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

Individual counseling provides an opportunity to discuss current challenges, one on one, with a licensed psychotherapist. It is solution focused and establishes the framework to build on your strengths so you can address areas for desired growth, as well as achieve your identified goals. Individual counseling also helps identify old patterns that are being used to address new challenges, and provides a safe place to develop strategies that are more effective.

COUPLES COUNSELING

Couples counseling offers you and your significant other an opportunity to collaborate with your therapist to identify ineffective patterns of interacting, gain new understanding, and learn alternative skills for enhancing problem solving and communication. Couples counseling can provide tools for creating a new paradigm and help a couple acknowledge and celebrate  growth and change that has occurred.

CHILD AND ADOLESCENT COUNSELING

Through counseling, children and adolescents learn problem solving skills, conflict resolution, and self-expression. For youth and young adults, playing, drawing, and building, in addition to talking, are important ways of sharing feelings and resolving problems. Therefore, these activities are often incorporated into counseling. Parents are included in treatment and will occasionally be invited to attend family counseling sessions.

GROUP COUNSELING

Our groups teach clients to manage emotions and utilize more effective communication skills. Group counseling also provides the opportunity for clients to develop trust, and to experience appropriate and effective modeling of new behaviors. Through group counseling, clients are able to receive educational information, as well as support and feedback from other group members.

SUBSTANCE USE COUNSELING

We understand that each individual is unique in terms of their needs, preferences, and readiness to change. The goal of substance use counseling is for you to feel equipped for a life of long-term recovery as you define it. There are multiple factors that lead to substance use issues.  To address these factors, we provide integrated treatment using evidence-supported practices including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based sobriety, acceptance and commitment therapy, and motivational interviewing.
